The Language Flagship is dedicated to promoting opportunities for U.S. institutions of higher education to develop advanced language programs. Several times a year we release Requests for Proposals (RFPs) as we seek to expand the scope and scale of The Language Flagship. Open RFPsAfrican Languages Flagship Center (Reopen) The Language Flagship is seeking proposals from U.S. institutions of higher education to develop a domestic Undergraduate African Languages (Swahili) Flagship Center Proposals are due September 8, 2010 Chinese Flagship Center The Language Flagship is seeking proposals from U.S. institutions of higher education to develop a domestic Graduate and Undergraduate Chinese Language Flagship Centers  Proposals are due September 15, 2010 Closed RFPs African Languages Flagship Center The Language Flagship sought proposals from U.S. institutions of higher education to develop a domestic Undergraduate African Languages (Swahili) Flagship Center  Proposals were due on June 1, 2010. Russian Flagship Center The Language Flagship sought proposals from U.S. institutions of higher education to develop a domestic Flagship Center for Russian language . Proposals were due on December 11, 2009. Central Eurasian Turkic Planning Grant The Language Flagship sought proposals from U.S. institutions of higher education to develop and implement a planning grant for the development of a Central Eurasian Turkic Flagship Center  Proposals were due on September 11, 2009. 2009 Diffusion of Innovation The Language Flagship sought proposals for the grant program Promoting the Diffusion of Innovation (219KB). Applications were due December 19, 2008. African Languages Flagship Center The Language Flagship sought proposals for a new domestic African Languages Flagship Center (123KB). Applications were due May 2, 2008.
