Hiring

Numerous informal studies have reported on the growing importance of international knowledge and second language skills in hiring. The Flagship model fosters graduates with professional-level foreign language proficiency, strong critical thinking and problem solving skills, and experience living and working abroad. All Flagship Certified students complete rigorous domestic language study in addition to their academic and professional studies and complete area studies and an internship overseas in their chosen language and field. If you are interested in hiring a Flagship student with skills in a specific language, please contact the director of an appropriate Flagship university program.

Internships

All Flagship students must complete an internship overseas in their chosen language and field in order to be Flagship Certified. These internships are geared to complement their university studies with domain-oriented, hands-on experience leveraging their advanced language skills in an overseas internship environment. Additionally, students benefit from domestically-based internships in which they can use their language skills and increase their knowledge of professional workplace. If you are interested in hiring a Flagship student for an unpaid internship domestically or overseas, or starting a coordinated internship program with The Language Flagship, please contact the director of a nearby Flagship university program.

Scholarships

We welcome individuals and companies who wish to support scholarships for Flagship students. This is a great way to support future global professionals and future employees in a targeted way. You may collaborate with a Flagship institution to provide scholarship support; or you may choose to donate at a national level to support a variety of Flagship students from around the United States.  Please contact the director of a nearby Flagship university program to open up dialogue today.
